XII Republican Festival of National Cultures
The events of the XII Republican Festival of National Cultures delighted residents and guests of the city with a new and rich program on June 1-2, 2018. The festival was dedicated to folk amusements that united all nationalities into one friendly round dance.
The opening of the festival began with a concert of Belarusian pop stars and the best performances of national public associations. The culmination was a 3D-mapping-show and fireworks.
The morning of the second day surprised the audience with a bright and cheerful procession with elements of a folk fair festivities. Traditionally, national farmsteads operated with a new fun program: folk games, national "buffoonery", the culture of medieval street theaters, oriental fairs described in the legends about Haja Nasruddin and the tales of Scheherazade. Lenin Square has become a large-scale Belarusian courtyard, and Sovetskaya Square has turned into a multinational stage area.
During the festival, a mechanical diorama, a coffee bus opened, a presentation of the board game “Festival Bouquet” took place, an exhibition of national toys, an animation fair began, and music and dance lovers could get a lot of positive mood at the “Ethno-party” with the participation of modern DJs.
At the festival, a living, seething, polyphonic and incessant "picture of the world" was painted in the brightest colors - in Grodno one could go around the whole "planet" in a day.
