UKRAINIAN FLAG

On the flag of Ukraine:
Two horizontal stripes of the same width: blue at the top, yellow at the bottom.
The meaning and history of the flag of Ukraine:
The yellow color symbolizes the wheat fields in the steppes under the blue sky of Ukraine. The Ukrainian flag embodies the eternal aspiration of the people for peace, work, beauty and wealth of their native land.
The length to width ratio is 3: 2.
The Day of the State Flag of Ukraine is celebrated on 23 August every year. It was approved in 2004 by the decree of the President of Ukraine.
From the history
The first documented use of yellow and blue was the coat of arms of the Lviv land. In the Battle of Grunwald in 1410, units formed on the lands of modern Ukraine fought against the crusaders. Among them was the Leopolskaya (that is, Lvovskaya) banner, which depicted "a yellow lion, as if rising to a rock, on an azure field" - this is how the Polish historian Jan Dlugosh described it in his work "Battle of Grunwald". This is the first mention of the colors of the coat of arms of Lviv land.
The flag was introduced into official use on September 18, 1991 by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Ukraine, which allowed its use for all protocol cases. From that moment on, the national flag was used instead of the flag of the Ukrainian SSR in all cases requiring the use of the state flag. On January 28, 1992, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law on the State Flag of Ukraine, by which the national flag was approved as the state one.
Among the flags of the Slavic countries, only Ukrainian and Bosnian are not red.
