"Local history"
The purpose of the circle is the formation of a versatile, moral, creative personality of a student by means of tourism and local history.
Tasks:
1. the formation of citizenship, patriotism and national identity based on state ideology, moral, aesthetic and environmental culture, culture of family relations.
2. preparation for independent life and work.
3. mastering the skills of a healthy lifestyle and the basics of safe life.
4. creation of conditions for socialization and self-development of the student's personality; involvement of students in search and research activities by means of local history.
5. Expansion of knowledge in history, geography, biology, ecology, obtained in the institution of general secondary education.
Classes are held according to the schedule (1 hour per week).
The program of the circle includes theoretical and practical lessons:
1) theoretical (conversations, lectures, quizzes, independent work).
2) practical (excursions, meetings).
The work of the circle is conducted through excursions, lectures, games, and practical exercises.

"My own game"
Today, at the lesson of the circle, a historical game on Grodno studies "Own Game" was organized. The students were divided into two teams and answered questions about our city, as well as tested their knowledge of the history of Belarus. All participants of the game had a good time and were charged with positive emotions.
Famous fellow countrymen of Grodno region
Another lesson of the "Local History" circle was dedicated to the famous fellow countrymen of Grodno region. The students got acquainted with the success story of Olga Korbut and Volchetskaya Elena, learned who Leon Naidus is and what record was set by the Grodno strongman Yakub Chekhovsky. They remembered the Great Patriotic War and talented military leaders like A. Antonov, N. Pavlovsky, who made a huge contribution to the defeat of Nazi Germany.
Getting to know the city
Today, the students walked through the historical center of the city and got acquainted with the history of the creation of the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the monastery of the Brigits. An architectural monument of the early Baroque with elements of Gothic and Renaissance, was built in Grodno in 1634-1642. The founders of the monastery are considered the court marshal of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania Krzysztof Veselovsky and his wife Alexandra Mariana from the Sobieski clan, who in 1634 invited the Order of the Brigits to Grodno and presented him with several plots of land in the city itself and farms in Grodno and Volkovysk poviets. The guys had the opportunity to find out how this ensemble was built and what value it is for our country.
Excursion "Along the streets of Grodno"
We walked along the streets of the city and plunged into the past, the first half of the day in the camp was so active. The guys found out who A.K. Thalheim, J. Zhiliber, A. Tizengauz were and what contribution they made to the development of our Grodno. We got acquainted with the history of the founding of the Grodno Medical Academy, the Theater School, the Grodno Provincial Male Gymnasium, as well as who could receive an education and what curriculum existed. And at the end of the excursion we got acquainted with the unique house and its owner, which is located at the crossroads of Lenin and Karbyshev streets.
MUSEUM-HISTORICAL GAME "Secret exhibit"
For the lesson of the circle, the children had the opportunity to play an exciting game "The Secret Exhibit". The essence of this event is that the player chooses any exhibit in the museum, but does not inform the rest of the players. The rest are trying to guess what this secret object is. The student can give prompts by answering leading questions only "yes" or "no". The one who guesses is the next one to choose the secret exhibit. The guys took part with pleasure and got a lot of positive emotions.
Quiz "How well do I know history?"
In the course of the work of the "Local History" circle, 7th grade students took part in the game "How well do I know history." The guys were divided into 2 groups and solved historical puzzles and riddles. Each tried to help his team and give as many correct answers as possible. At the end of the lesson, the results were summed up and all the participants received pleasant prizes.
Acquaintance with the Festival of National Cultures
On October 15, 2020, an introductory tour was organized at the lesson dedicated to the history of the creation and holding of the Festival of National Cultures in the city of Grodno. The children were able to get acquainted with the events of the festival, its features and the main nationalities, which from year to year take part in this event. In addition, thanks to videos and reports of past festivals, the circle members were able to plunge into the festive and solemn atmosphere that reigned in our city.
The 1st Republican Festival of National Cultures, held in 1996, laid the foundation for the purposeful development of the cultures of the national associations of Belarus. For the first time, Belarusians at such a thorough level got acquainted with the diversity, inflorescence of national cultures - songs, dances, music, examples of national applied art, national traditions and national cuisines - by which the culture of each nationality is determined.
The II festival coincided with the celebration of the 870th anniversary of the city of Grodno and events dedicated to the 600th anniversary of the settlement of the Tatars in the lands of Belarus.
The ІІІ festival acquired the status of the All-Belarusian one. The park "Druzhba" was laid, where young trees were planted - parts of the nature of the historical homelands of national associations.
The V All-Belarusian Festival of National Cultures is an anniversary one, for the first time it was held in accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus. The theme of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the German fascist invaders is widely presented in the creative compositions.
The festival takes place every 2 years in the city of Grodno.
